Netflix is Conquering Comedy

Netflix is the king of comedy specials right now. From Chris Rock, Bill Burr, John Mulaney, and Dave Chappelle, Netflix gets all the biggest comedians. They also feature up and coming comics as well like Beth Stelling, Sam Jay, Jak Knight, and Tim Dillion. Now Netflix is expanding to just audible landscape with a SiriusXM station Netflix is a Joke Radio! The channel will feature all the comics that you can watch on Netflix but one joke at a time.

National Comedy Center

The National Comedy Center in Jamestown, NY has officially been recognized as the cultural institution for the art of comedy. Hometown of Lucille Ball, the center has an exhibit dedicated to the hometown hero as well as a comedy festival held every year in her name. We all know comedy has been becoming mainstream in recent years and this just proves what a vital art form Comedy has become in society! Check out their website https://comedycenter.org/!

Will Smith does Stand Up

Will Smith has started a new show on Facebook called Will Smith’s Bucket List, in which he does things he has never done before. One of the scariest things Will Smith could think of was doing stand up comedy. He goes in front of people to sing and act but in front of a crowd with only a microphone brings fear to Will Smith. But he called upon the master, Dave Chappelle, to help write. Like everything else Will Smith does, it is pretty good for his first time.

Crank Yanker is BACK!

There seems to be a never ending list of reboots but this one is one to get excited about! Crank Yankers is coming back to COmedy Central on a digital platform. Since caller ID is far more common now than before Crank Yankers will be expanding beyond just phone calls. They will be doing stuff on social media and other platforms that were not a thing last time the show was on. Will all the characters come back? We certainly hope so!

Rush Hour 4

It is official, Rush Hour 4 is happening. It has been rumored for years that there would be a reboot of these movies but since the last one came out in 2007, fans were losing hope. Chan and Tucker finally signed off on a script and it should go into production soon.  Anticipated for an August 2020 premiere! Luckily Comedy Works was able to host Chris Tucker last year for his limited stand up tour!
