The Laugh Doctor is in the House!

Have you ever heard of the phrase, “Laughter is the best medicine”? Well, Riki Msindo has taken that phrase to heart by becoming a comedian while also studying to be a doctor.

 Msindo is a 26-year-old student at the University of Bristol in England. He is currently studying medicine to chase his dream of becoming a doctor. Recently he was awarded the Chortle Student Comedy Award after his standout performance among other students in a Stand-Up Comedy competition hosted by Chortle.

During an interview Msindo mentioned that on his 12th birthday, he was taken to a comedy show starring Trevor Noah. Msindo also said that, “My mum tells me the first thing I wanted to be was a comedian, but it was seeing Trevor Noah that really got me interested.”

Winning this competition, Msindo had nothing but great words to say for his fellow competitors and to his dreams, “Everyone at the show was so talented, they all made me laugh so much, which made winning feel even more incredible,” Msindo stated.

Studying Medicine and the art of comedy keeps Msindo very busy. He mentioned that he tries to work around his studies to perform shows at local clubs. After graduation Msindo plans to keep doing comedy while working as a doctor. Talk about a real medical miracle for comedian and doctor, Riki Msindo.
