Amy Schumer New Special on Netflix!

Amy Schumer next Netflix special set to premiere March 19th. The hour is called Growing and was filmed in Chicago back in December. ” I am really proud of it”, says Amy “and I think it is the best special I have ever done.” It has been too long since Amy’s last special, The Leather Special, back in 2017.  We are just as excited as Amy Schumer to see this new masterpiece!

David Spade goes to Late Night!

David Spade is a man of many talents. He has such a range of work and now he can add Late night Host to the list. Comedy Central has green lit the show Monday – Thursday after The Daily Show. It should be a good contrast between the news from The Daily Show to the silliness that is David Spade and his friends like Rob Schneider and Adam Sandler. But it is nothing compared to seeing David live at Comedy Works South at the Landmark on May 5th and 6th!

Crank Yanker is BACK!

There seems to be a never ending list of reboots but this one is one to get excited about! Crank Yankers is coming back to COmedy Central on a digital platform. Since caller ID is far more common now than before Crank Yankers will be expanding beyond just phone calls. They will be doing stuff on social media and other platforms that were not a thing last time the show was on. Will all the characters come back? We certainly hope so!

Rush Hour 4

It is official, Rush Hour 4 is happening. It has been rumored for years that there would be a reboot of these movies but since the last one came out in 2007, fans were losing hope. Chan and Tucker finally signed off on a script and it should go into production soon.  Anticipated for an August 2020 premiere! Luckily Comedy Works was able to host Chris Tucker last year for his limited stand up tour!

Lil Rel SO Many Shows!

Lil Rel has been in everything recently! Getting his start in Get Out. He has gone on to star in his own show Rel on FOX and Netflix’s Hit movie Bird Box. This summer you can see him in the new show on Comedy Central called South Side. Lil Rel joined by Eric Andre will also be in a new movie, from the producers of Jackass, called Bad Trip coming out this fall. Needless to say, Lil Rel is blowing up and who knows the next time he will be touring. Get you tickets now to see him at Comedy Works Downtown in Larimer Square March 7 – 9!

Bob Saget’s New Show on ABC

Bob Saget has been a household name for a while. Known for the dad from Full House and host of America’s Funniest Home Videos, Bob Saget recently got a new show on ABC. Video After Dark, will combine his host of AFV and the raunchy stylings of his stand up comedy. The best of both world’s. He is coming to screens at home but also to a stage near you!

It is always great to have Bob at Comedy Works. Be sure to get your tickets for Bob at Comedy Works South at the Landmark on March 1 – 3, before it sells out!

Comedy Dynamics and Amazon Team UP

Comedy Dynamics is one of the largest independent comedy production and distribution companies. They have produced Ali Wong’s Baby Cobra with Netflix, Andrew Santino Homefield Advantage for Showtime, Hulu’s Coming to the Stage. Now they are teaming up with Amazon Prime! Together we will get new specials from Jim Gaffigan, Tony Hinchcliffe, Matt Braunger, and Bryan Callen. There amazing catalog can be seen here! So many comedy specials and so little time but it is always great to see live! Keep an eye for these comics coming to Comedy Works!

 

Pete Davidson and Judd Apatow

Pete Davidson Story to be Judd Apatow’s Next Big Project

Judd Apatow has worked with so many comedians and helped them become a household name. Pete Davidson has already made a huge splash in the comedy community being the youngest cast member of SNL. These two are joining forces to make a movie, which will be based off Pete Davidson life. Production starts this spring and is scheduled to be released June 19, 2020.
